The horse the human and inclusive design

Two mammals have entered a symbiotic partnership. They are both self energy seeking, self repairing and self reproducing but have found cooperation valuable.

There are two main forms of cooperation, bare back and with the use of various tools or prostheses.

The prostheses include seating, and controls also known as reins stirrups and saddles.

The horseless carriage has a similar set of prostheses, the seat, the pedals, the steering wheel. The power source is no longer self energy seeking, self repairing and self reproducing and is currently dependent on using capital stocks of energy.

Rail has a similar set of tools, rails are the control process, removing the need for reins stirrups and steering wheels. Power is delivered via knitting or capital stocks are carried.

The cycle also has this combination – pedals to transmit power, handlebars for steering tyres for control.

There are many permutations of interfaces, hooves, wheels and rail, tyres and roads, saddles between machine or animal and human.

What if we seriously explored symbiosis and cooperation, as with the horse and the human?

If we understood level boarding from platform to train as a form of saddle, cycle tyres as saddles between surfaces and machines , the cycle frame as the thing that holds together the processes of movement, control and positioning?

Why are we not seeing the symbiosis of rail and cycle as another iteration of the symbiosis of horse and human?
