Hitch22

Just reading this and as the advert says, loving it!

Methinks our problems may be down to Britain being a very institutionalised society, in the tradition of Goffman Asylums and Total Institutions, but we are so institutionalised we no longer recognise the damage the public schools and related traditions are doing.

Why precisely do so many of our leaders have a specified educational background?  Are they really born to lead?

All this austerity guff might be down to a form of sado masochism as they relive their public school days.

Hitch relates a story of an officer in a Japanese POW camp having a nightmare and waking up and apologising the dream was about his public school…

We might be making a mistake blaming the bankers – maybe they are a symptom…
